Intertrust Joins a Discussion of the Indian Digital Entertainment Market

In January 2016, the U.S. OTT video powerhouse Netflix entered the Indian video market. With the number of Internet users forecasted to grow from 250 million in 2015 to 640 million in 2019, along with a vibrant entertainment market, it’s an opportune time for Netflix and other industry participants to enter the burgeoning Indian market. As an extension of Intertrust’s activities in India, we’re proud to join the Marlin Developer Community in sponsoring the Digital Entertainment India 2016 event in Mumbai on February 11, 2016.

The Digital Entertainment India event promises to be an interesting mix of both Indian domestic and international players in the digital entertainment market. Starting off with a keynote from Intertrust’s own CEO Talal Shamoon, other participants include Roopak Nair from Reliance Entertainment, Rajat Nigam from Network18, Manas Mati from Disney India, Alberto Sigismondi from Tivu in Italy and Albhy Galuten from Sony Interactive Entertainment. We’re also particularly interested in hearing from Prasad Sanagavarapu, the founder of Kiora Media, an Intertrust portfolio company. Kiora is introducing innovative digital entertainment distribution solutions suited for the Indian market as well as other markets with underdeveloped broadband infrastructure. Topics to be discussed include digital content distribution frameworks for the Indian market, mitigating digital content risks and new monetization opportunities.  Digital Entertainment India promises to be an insightful day of discussion and information exchange around this exciting market.
